Wildlife We Remove From North Florida Homes and Businesses
Different species, different tactics. Here’s what we actually see on service calls across St. Johns and Flagler Counties — and how we handle each one.
Raccoons
Raccoons find attics through soffit gaps, vent screens, and roof-line intersections. In St. Johns County we most often trap and remove them from Nocatee, World Golf Village, and Silverleaf attics — usually mothers with kits nesting between the truss chords. We use humane live-trap capture, verify no young are left behind, then seal every entry point with heavy-gauge steel exclusion mesh.
Squirrels
Eastern grays and southern flying squirrels chew through fascia and enter attics near dormers and gable vents. Damage compounds fast — chewed wiring is a real fire risk. We inspect, live-trap, and install one-way exit doors on active runs so the animal exits but can’t re-enter, then we do full closure.
Bats
North Florida bats (mostly Brazilian free-tailed and evening bats) roost in barrel-tile roof gaps and older attic soffits along the coast. Bat exclusion is legally restricted between April 15 and August 15 to protect maternity colonies (FWC rule) — we plan the work around that window and use one-way excluders that comply.
Snakes (Venomous & Non-Venomous)
Cottonmouths near retention ponds, rat snakes in landscaping, and the occasional pygmy rattler in Palm Coast wooded lots. We identify the species, remove the snake safely, and inspect for the food source that attracted it (usually rodents). If you’re unsure whether the snake is venomous, don’t approach — call and text a photo.
Armadillos
Nine-banded armadillos root through lawns for grubs, tearing up sod and mulch beds overnight. Most active in humid months when the ground is soft. We trap using low-entry live cages placed on active runs, and address the grub load (their food source) via lawn treatment.
Birds (Nesting & Pigeon Control)
Pigeons and starlings nesting under solar panels, in bathroom vents, or on commercial rooflines. We install exclusion netting, dryer-vent guards, and bird-spike deterrents. Roof-mounted solar arrays are a top complaint in Palm Coast — we handle those weekly.
Our Humane Wildlife Removal Process
Wildlife jobs aren’t just “set a trap and hope.” Here’s how we actually do it — the same way every time.
Full Property Inspection
Interior + exterior + roofline + attic. We identify the species, count individuals, find every active and potential entry point (not just the obvious one), and check for young that would delay removal. Inspection typically runs 45–75 minutes.
Species ID & FWC Compliance
Florida Fish & Wildlife has specific rules — some species require permits, some have seasonal restrictions (bats are the big one, April 15–August 15). We handle the compliance side so you don’t have to think about it.
Live Trapping or Direct Capture
Depending on species and access, we use humane live-cages, one-way exclusion doors, or hand-capture. Traps are checked daily until removal is complete. We do not use glue traps or lethal snap-traps for wildlife.
Entry-Point Exclusion & Structural Repair
The trap is only half the job. We seal every gap with the right material — heavy-gauge steel mesh for rodents and squirrels, hardware cloth for bats and birds, foam + flashing for smaller gaps. Warranted for one year against reentry through any point we sealed.
Sanitation, Deodorization & Damage Repair
Attic droppings and soiled insulation get removed and hauled off. We apply enzyme-based sanitizer to neutralize scent trails that attract new wildlife. If insulation replacement or chewed wiring inspection is needed, we coordinate with a licensed contractor.
What Wildlife Removal Costs in North Florida
Wildlife pricing depends on species, access, structural damage, and how many entry points need sealing. Every quote is free and honest. Here’s the range:
Single-animal removal
Small-scale: a raccoon in the attic, a snake in the garage, an armadillo in the yard. Includes trap set, monitoring, single-animal capture, and sealing 1–2 obvious entry points.
Full colony removal + exclusion
Bats, larger raccoon families, multi-squirrel infestations. Full property exclusion (all entry points sealed with warranted materials), removal, and one round of attic sanitation.
Complete restoration
Full attic decontamination, insulation removal + replacement, chewed-wire inspection referral, drywall or soffit repair. Common after long-standing bat or raccoon colonies.
Every quote is free. We show up, inspect, and give you the price in writing — no upsell.
Humane, Licensed, and Compliant with Florida Law
Wildlife removal in North Florida is regulated by the FWC. Handling species like bats or protected raptors without permits — or trapping between prohibited windows — carries fines. Brandon is licensed to handle every species we work with, and every removal is documented so you have a paper trail if HOA or insurance requires it.
